This is a childhood story that many dramas like to relate to when they want to emphasize some life analogy. It revolves around this character by the name ‘Little Prince’ where he is really petite as the original title says, ‘Le Petit Prince’. The Little Prince has an asteroid where he calls it his ‘planet’.
It seems that the Little Prince is someone who is simple, easily amused and easily contented. In his journey around the world, we can see the traits that I mentioned above. One incident is where he decided to climb the highest mountain he assumed to see the whole planet and people. This showed his simple side. As he has only visited asteroids, he has never really knows how big a real planet is till he visited Earth which was recommended by the geographer he met. When he found out that Earth is way bigger than what he thought, he felt dejected. He thinks he’s not a great prince as his planet only has three volcanoes and a rose, which is common and he has lost faith on.
The Little Prince reminds me of a phrase which is literally translated as ‘frog in the well’ as all he saw before his trip to Earth was just a small part in the Universe but he is not big headed and is willing to listen to the teachings he got from the people he met. He’s a keen learner. This trait is something that we all should emulate cause this world is too vast it’s impossible to learn all the things in this life and we should not stop learning till we die.
Another trait of him is that whenever he encounters problems or discovered something his faith in his stuffs starts to waver. He gets discouraged easily. However due to the words of the Fox, he learned that there are things far bigger and better than what he owns but he can’t possibly be chasing after them. He should be contented with what he owns and be responsible of them for he has already established a bond with them.
In all, we should put ourselves into the story as the Little Prince where we will grow to learn in order to improve, be a better person and apply what we learnt into our daily life.
